Sangha
Privacy Policy
About this policy
Sangha is a daily-practice app for yoga, satsang, mindful food and wisdom, available on Android and at gangaanandyoga.com. It is operated by Apodic Software Solutions LLP ("Apodic", "we", "us"). This policy explains what the app collects, why, and the choices you have.
In short: you can use Sangha as a guest, without giving us any personal information. If you choose to sign in with Google, we keep your name, email address and photo, and a mobile number only if you add one. You can delete your account at any time. We do not sell data or show third-party ads.
Information we collect
As a guest, we collect only the usage, identifier, device and campaign information below, linked to a random ID rather than to you. When you sign in, we also keep your account details, and your usage is linked to your account.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos from your device or payment details, and we do not use an advertising ID. We use usage information to improve Sangha, mostly in aggregate (such as "active users per hour"), and never to advertise to you.
Stored only on your device: your daily routine, reminder times, practice history, playback position and food plan stay on your device for now. We do not receive them. They are removed when you clear the app's data or uninstall it. If we start saving them to your account, we will update this policy first.
Reminders: if you turn on routine reminders, they are scheduled on your device. We do not collect a notification token.
Sharing and service providers
We do not sell, rent or share your information with anyone for their own use. These providers help us run Sangha and handle information only on our behalf:
Because our database runs in Singapore, your information is stored outside India. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
Retention and security
- Your account: kept until you delete it.
- Sign-in records: kept for 12 months, then deleted. Ended sign-in sessions are deleted 30 days after they end.
- Usage information: kept for 12 months, then deleted. Reports built from it contain only totals.
Information is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Sign-in sessions are stored only in a one-way scrambled form, and access is limited to the Apodic team that runs Sangha.
Children
Sangha is designed for adults and is not meant for children under 18. We do not knowingly create accounts for children. If you believe a child has signed in, write to us and we will delete the account.
Your rights and choices
- See and correct your details: your name, email, photo and mobile number are on the Profile tab. You can add, change or remove your mobile number there. Your name and photo come from Google.
- Delete your account: on the Profile tab, choose Delete account, or follow the steps on our account deletion page. Your account, mobile number and sign-in sessions are deleted straight away. Usage information stays only under a random ID that no longer leads to you.
- Sign out: signing out ends the session on that device.
- Use Sangha as a guest: you never have to sign in. Clearing the app's storage or reinstalling creates a new random identifier.
- Ask us: you can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or raise a complaint, by writing to us below. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may also nominate someone to act for you, and complain to the Data Protection Board of India if we do not resolve your concern.
Changes to this policy
If Sangha starts collecting new kinds of information, we will update this policy and its effective date before that change goes live, and tell you in the app.
